Nope, I was a policeman for 30 years - The DOJ is political by nature (due to appointments) The FBI has always done the bidding for the DOJ and both redirect their focus based on direction from above. The FBI dose not make PC arrests they do everything through indictment. The game they play (with the DOJ's direction and help) is to interview suspects at length to obtain any false statements and then charge the suspect not for the investigated crime but for lying to the FBI. When working with these guys you have to make sure everything is in writing (which they don't want to do) so they won't change their story later and leave you holding the bag when an investigation fails. The FBI and DOJ (in my experience) always exaggerated and mislead on facts to get an investigation going then find some nonsense charge (like lying to the FBI) to get a conviction at the end. They were always back stabbing each other and searching for the spotlight. If you want to laugh look at drugfire and the "profile unit". The Feds are a scary bunch I'll give them that but honesty not so much.

With all respect about Bob my experience with him was always a very fine friendship and for others I know as well.
On the other side I see some guys fooled him with some bad stuff. But this is not new at all in our hobby world.

if i remember clearly, he informed the new buyer that some items were questionable, but it was the new buyer who proposed the whole to the auctioneer without any info about the "dubious" items.

I think that the problem is that some replies by famous collectors may appear a bit arrogant. It is always hard to question your own knowledge.

Interesting. I recently spoke to a retired law enforcement and he said the FBI was the most crooked organization he had ever attempted to work with. Their police agency would try to interview a suspect in FBI custody and the FBI forbid them to tape record the interview. The FBI agents would regularly lie. Anyway, thanks for your insight.
            Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

You will not find many in the criminal justice system that will say anything good about the FBI, ATF, or the DOJ.

P.S. Obviously there are individual people that are exceptions to this rule, but the culture of the organizations are corrupt.

Was the buyer of this coat informed that the CT is fake?

I would like to hear some comments on the price that the Lammers overcoat sold for. Isn’t the final price a bit high?
Maybe FrenchVolunteer have some knowledge of the value of an overcoat to an SS General.

Because a dealer (on the last page) tried to say he was honest and above reproach because he was affiliated with the FBI. I should have quoted him..

In relation to what a SS Generals overcoat might be worth..this example.. named to Theodor Zittel has been listed at Hermann Historica at a starting price of 20000 euro

What I do is sell militaria. Oh...I also work with DOJ putting forgers and thieves in jail, I assist NARA in recovery of stolen letters and documents and facilitate their return to the National Archives, and I am a special witness for the FBI. I suppose they think I'm a hypocrite as well.

I'm done with this. I quite honestly don't care about you or your opinion of me.

                                Have a nice day.

BTW Clearly you were unable to comprehend that the "Charlie Snyder" comment was a bit of sardonic humor. I'm sorry. I overestimated you.
What do your friends at the FBI say about the fact that you auctioned an item that has fake effects on it and you didn’t disclose this in the description?
