    Classless.

IF this is addressed to me ..

    1) I did not " sh_t all over a lifetime devotee to the hobby...now that he's dead? " I expressed an observation which others had raised also on the Political Forum but they have since been deleted and one which (unpalatable as it may seem) several people seem to have held.

    2) IF Bob had treated me the same as he did several others I would have had no hesitation in calling him out when he was alive ... personally I never crossed swords with him but saw several of his items dissected to negative result.

    3) I never have and never will profess to be " an expert " something which I always treat with great scepticism as in many cases they are really just crooks with an agenda.

    4) I never have, and never will " Hide behind an alias " I am who it says, I have always been here and on other for a under my own name. Why not ask Gary Wood our Moderator .... he will tell you exactly who I am.

      Hi,

Bill, when Bob was still alive, he was confronted to a few dubious items he presented on the WAF (especially the Blutorden prototype) and the only thing i saw was a) no excuse/apology from him and b) he sold the Emil Maurice lot after the scam was debunked (then it was put on auction without any warning about the suspicious content and dubious legitimacy of the lot).

The overcoat was sold yesterday for 46,875 $, without fees.

      See You

I thought when he sold it the bad parts were removed but I could be wrong. He was stubborn and probably believed it all still real if he did sell the whole lot.I bought several tunics and brownshirts from him including an NSFK tunic I sent back as it had added numbers to the tabs as they were the NSKK type, and an officer eagle on an enlisted tunic. But he took it back no questions aasked. He had a lot of good stuff and a lot of not so good. But a great collection nonetheless. But on the War Relics forum,he was quick with some new members which was a bit much.

That would make a great tee shirt: "Expert: A Crook With an Agenda". I'm co-opting this for future use unless you copyright it. But I'm no expert on copyright issues.

I didn’t single out anyone, I didn’t name anyone. I simply implied that where I come from, we don’t speak badly of the dead. Not the individual, nor the manner in which he conducted his business. Except Charlie Snyder, maybe.

I was not aware he (BC)sold the Emil Maurice group knowing it was dud....oh dear money the root of all evil, that is extremely disappointing.

Of course you speak the truth. You say you speak the truth, so of course you speak the truth. Who would dare question someone who has posted 15,000 times in the past 16 years?

What I do is sell militaria. Oh...I also work with DOJ putting forgers and thieves in jail, I assist NARA in recovery of stolen letters and documents and facilitate their return to the National Archives, and I am a special witness for the FBI. I suppose they think I'm a hypocrite as well.

I'm done with this. I quite honestly don't care about you or your opinion of me.

                    Have a nice day.

BTW Clearly you were unable to comprehend that the "Charlie Snyder" comment was a bit of sardonic humor. I'm sorry. I overestimated you.

Regardless of who owned the overcoat, I would question the decidedly uneven wear to the insignia.

All items have to stand on their own regardless of who owned them.
                        Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

I have no need to lie, this is supposed to be a hobby (to me) and that's all it is.

Maybe you overestimate me again … I have NO clue what my post count has to do with anything.

I appreciated the humour re everyone's chum Snyder and always berated him both before and after his fortunate demise.

                          Cheers, Ian.

                            .

Saying you worked for the DOJ and are involved with the FBI does not help your position. The most dishonest people I meet throughout my life worked for the FBI and DOJ.

You must be on Trump's re-election staff. The most honorable, decent and hard-working (and underpaid) people I ever met worked for Justice, except perhaps for that cockroach Barr.

Are you some kind of collusion supporter? ROFL!

                                A shame

What frustrates me is the inability at times for those who sell militaria to listen to other valued opinions. The auction in question had some excellent stuff, indeed rare and interesting. However it is incumbent on the very same people to ensure to the best of their abilities that items are sound. What has really got my goat is the fact that BC flogged dud items knowing full well they were fakes.Someone somewhere forks out their hard earned to pursue a hobby they love only to be hoodwinked because they lack knowledge.Bill I am sure you are a decent guy
but this collecting area is a minefield. Hence the need to be careful and I am afraid the Ribbentrop document is a fake period. Just my pennethworth.
