Interesting! I first saw what I believe was this overcoat in my friend Bob Joslin's Seattle collection many years ago. Not sure if it had the armband at that time.

Bob (RIP) came across many high end uniforms and other items, including Karl Wolff's uniforms; LSSAH kettledrum hanger; Ribbentrops's full table service including tablecloth, napkins; tapestries from the Reichskanzlei, etc. I was fortunate to pick up some nice items from Bob over the years. He was a real gentleman but tough to negotiate with!

Per the listing from the late Bob Coleman's collection.

Nothing to do with the piece but a pet peeve. You're advertising an item with a high expected return. At least take a lint roller to it and present it well. Not just for photographing but for preservation as well.

There are some areas of concern that don't sit well with me; the hand signed label in ball point pen, the script of the signed label, its not his signature even, the really amateur hand sewing for a private purchase piece, even the machine stitching appears 'off' and not well guided in places in the few images showing it , the collar tabs are sewn at different distances from the collar edge, the thick piping on the collar, different aging to insignia from the rest of the mantel rather than uniform aging for items that were supposedly all together since it was sewn. Just my thoughts.

                      Rudolf von Ribbentrop

LSSAH 's Rudolf von Ribbentrop's preliminary KC Urkunde also offered but has been flagged as bad here.Again lots of good stuff but be careful out there !!!

Thanks Lloyd I. Could very well be not the same overcoat. Last time i saw "it" was at least forty-five to fifty years ago.

Joslin had Lammers black tunic and pants , no overcoat, I bought them and was in contact with him to the end.
Concerning this overcoat it is not made correctly with a number of glaring mistakes , not to mention all the above stated problems .

Always wondered why there are the wrong set of collartabs on this black mantel.
I would expect the 1st type of oakleaf collartabs on an 'early' black overcoat.
These collartabs are the 2nd type which came out in 1942 till 1945.
Hans Lammers became Obergruppenführer on 20 april 1940.
Would he still have worn this coat in 1942 and added the 2nd type tabs then?
