A Third Reich ½ litre Luftwaffe glazed pottery beer stein

A Third Reich ½ litre Luftwaffe glazed pottery beer stein, embossed with Luftwaffe eagle and Knight’s Cross with oak leaves, and inscribed “JG52, Oberleutnant Erich Hartmann” etc and facsimile of Goering’s signature, with frieze of Me. 109s around the base, GC; together with a newspaper obituary from October 1993 which relates that he scored a record number of 352 “Kills” (only 234 shown on the stein), mostly on the Russian Front, and was awarded the Knight’s Cross with oak leaves, swords and diamonds.

A Third Reich ½ litre Luftwaffe glazed pottery beer stein, embossed with Luftwaffe eagle and Iron Cross, and inscribed “NJG1, Staffelkapitan Kommandeur Hauptmann Rudolf Sigmund” etc, GC; together with details of Rudolf Sigmund, who scored 28 victories, was a recipient of the German Cross and Knight’s Cross and was a victim of friendly fire over Kassel, died 3rd October 1943
