100% agree, that’s why I posted. I’ve noticed this company offering it has really had quite a lot of crap rings lately, whereas earlier they were usually 50% good, 50% crap. It seems as if they’ve given up completely and just don’t even bother vetting anymore. I’m sure someone will buy it, unfortunately- but I thought I’d give the average guy a chance to save a few grand here if they do a basic bit of research.

The true problem in addition to the bad engraving is the fact that it looks like a 30s ring with a 1943 date!

It appears the listing has been removed. Hopefully it was removed from sale and not purchased or scuttled off to the next poor soul. I hope we made an impact- the fake “LAH” one we discussed here not long ago from the same seller ended up costing someone thousands of dollars in a sale. Ring

This is what it looks like when you engrave the inscription into the wax ring model before it's cast into metal......as opposed to hand-engraving the ring.
This a big hurdle to fakers, who can make a very good ring, but it's extremely difficult to match the fine strokes of a skilled engraver.
Most worriesome......is the new laser technology, and it's capacity to duplicate a model. This could be used in the replication of a ring, and maybe already has.
