Why not post it in the flag, pennant section.
Have OFW give it a once over.

It'd probably be better if a Moderator were to move the thread to the flag forum.. That way we wont have to lose everyone's input.

Heres a better photo of the tag.

The one on the collectors guild site is a little different, on the short side it does not have the white and black along the edge.

Just stumbled upon this old auction.. That nasty armband seems to have similar stitching. Possibly siblings?

I gave the link of this topic, so members can follow the two topics.

So for the readers of this one, here are the interesting comments of Ben (oldflagswanted) made here :

                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...50&postcount=3

                  and here :

I think that they unfortunately put the final nail in the coffin of this pennant.

Looks like rebeldevil89 was right when he said it was a fake. It is a shame to see fakes being sold on the WAF. It is a even bigger shame to see that this pennant was originally bought from a "legit" dealer that is very well known in the community.

Here is a cast eagle pick up from a WWII Veteran i bought a few years back. Complete fake, but guy legit served in WWII. Had photos and everything, said he fought in Italy.

                      But was also a collector....
Flip this over and shoot it.

I'm the owner of the pennant and the buyers money has been refunded. I had previously emailed Jeff because I myself became skeptical after the purchase. But he assured me it was authentic and came from a veteran. Whether the veteran brought it back or not we'll probably never know.. I did have the opportunity to return it but I decided not to. Oh well, Just another day in this ol hobby
I would like to know if the RZM tag is real though. It seems to be convincing.

I found this thread as well.. Same stitch and design. Someone was popping these out.

This early flag and late collar tab are on the E-stand. I'm trying to understand whats considered modern fill stitched and period "machine woven"

The stitching on that “NSDAP” flag is worse than the SS pennant
                            Burn them both

Just a brief background. I purchased this pennant from WAF member/Moderator Jeff Clark several months back from his site. He acquired it from a local veteran who was in the 1st Army, 3rd Infantry division; fought from D-Day to Prague.

                              Sold archive is here
                              https://www.nsdapuniforms.com/index....id=4501&page=8

After viewing some of Jeff’s threads on WAF I’d say he has one of the biggest collections of pennants out there. So I trust his judgement.

He also has an NSDAP pennant of the same construction

Amazing that a published author who is considered an expert in such a large field cannot tell that this pennant is not original

Agreed. Honestly surprised Mr. Clark hasn't commented...
