Most original RZM embroidered cufftitles have 7 thread borders. The weave and text are wrong on this one though ... in my terminology it's a 'jumbled weave' fake.

They were around in the mid-70's for sure … I remember seeing that weave even as a kids starting out collecting.

I've heard that "jumbled weave" description somewhere before, Ian! In addition to following up on that term, here are a couple of other spots worth focusing on when beginning your studies, Ben. Deep in this Forum - from long ago - there are a lot of great topics on these with wonderful hints. Of course, I'm sure by now you've already dug into them . . .

I haven't done much research into cufftitles to be honest mate.
Only so many hours in the day and there are countless different subjects I want to learn more about.
