Skull Ring Original??

I know this may or may not be SS but I thought this would be the best place to ask since you guys are skull experts.
It this real?

Nothing to do with SS, appears to be a cast piece- very large casting ball remains behind the skull on the reverse shot.

it is a good known pattern,,and this is old just not WWII old...Mushy details, the casting 'dot' and other problems...

As far as SS ring: Well it is private purchase,,anyone with the money could have bought it. SS runic rings were scarce to find/buy once the war got started. Many bought Skull rings.. They were actually popular and there are period photos in wear of skull rings in all the branches of the military service and para military.
3 Most popular though in this order [my opinion ] - SS, Panzer , HJ, . But again,,anyone could have gotten one with the money. but wartime, especially mid war people weren't buying rings. I think they were starting to have new worries!
