Need help with M35 SD SS camo helmet

    Hi folks.
This M35 camo helmet was an untouched attic found out of a small village in Bavaria (Wolnzach) some years ago. I just found out that it is listed as a M35 SS Single decal camo (reference is the Brian Ice list). My question is: are any period pics of SS troopers known wearing this unusual type of camo? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Hagen
Brians research is awesome but just because thats the only listing for that lot number it does not necessarily mean it's an SS helmet.
I don't recall ever seeing a helmet in those colours.
    Interesting lid.

Unusual camo for sure but I like it and I've already seen something similar, can't remember where
Aas Paul pointed out another SS don't make this one an SS but maybe something is hiden under the paint.
You'd better move it to the helmet section for more opinions.

I do not think that there is any unusual camo. i would say, that the colour is not original time period colour, but most probably some postwar painting. You can even see that the colour is not spread properly.

Once I have seen similar colour, it was para helmet awfully coloured during its post war theatrical career. So maybe it would be interesting to remove the colour whether under it is former colour and even insignia ... . But who knows.

you will not get proper reply on the SS subforum, so i reuploaded your pictures on the helmet subforum for the WAF archives here :

Imo, this is clearly an ugly postwar paint on a poor helmet...

          See You

Sorry to say guys but its 100% genuine tan but of course a not so advanced camo helmet collector can easily be wrong here. Helmet has already been discussed in GHW2 and about 20 comments were positive. I just asked for period pics this is why i posted it here. Thanks anyway for your help.

Vince, I know where this one came from. Its a 100% genuine camo helmet. Just because you have not seen these colors before doesnt mean its postwar...
