            Problem now sorted. Ebay inadvertently cancelled the order for some reason.
            It wasn't Darren's fault that this happened so now all has been settled.
            Bird has new owner.

                      You got lucky IMO. The leading edge of the wing is the wrong bullion material. I would not own that bird.....

                          The eagle is 101% original, made before May 1945.

                          That is exactly how this maker made the "leading edge of the wing" and is one of their manufacturing footprints to look for.

                          This thread was not about the eagle being good or bad. Everybody accepts the eagle is good, especially given who sold it originally and the price. The thread was about the possibility of it having been sold to someone else after the ebay sale had finished,

                              Hi,

                              Darren is a close friend of mine and I can wholeheartedly state that he is without doubt an honest gentleman, due to ongoing ill health and taking full time care of 2 severely disabled children he has asked Gary Wood to remove himself from this forum, which Gary has courteously done.

                              He has had his fair share of people take advantage of him over the years, including many dealers and decided enough is enough.

                              I just wanted to let you know that he is no longer a member here and wishes everyone the very best.
