    Green SS eagle ??

    Limited knowledge here...what is it? and any good?

    it surprises me how many times these obscene pieces
    earnt googled before the get to this. . . .

            Despite its horrid appearance, I'm not so sure this eagle is bogus.

            In close to 35 years of collecting, I remember seeing one other example. I first saw it about 10 to 15 years ago. I had it in hand and was able to study it rather closely. It is a twin to this one. The age looks right, not contrived. The green wool, the black cotton backing and the thread all look to be period, as well as the fairly high quality construction. They are a little large for cap eagles and a little small for sleeve or breast eagles

            I suspect they are pre - 1945, but I haven't a clue as to what they are.

                This is not a original eagle maybe an old reenactment piece.
                Spaces in between the wings - Awful green backing - No feet - bad design
                So you would give it room in your collection ?
