Perhaps someone can change my mind, but I’d say this is a fantasy (or maybe a non-SS) armband with a real RZM tag, at least IMHO. My thoughts on the armband:

I am only familiar with two yellow SS armbands: “Waffen – SS” in BeVo (I personally don’t like the printed ones) and “Reichsautozug” on yellow wool with the large flatwire pennant eagle and stamped serial number.

The ends of this armband are sewn together with a zig zag stitch, which I find a bit unusual in itself. Add the fact that the tag is sewn into the zig zag seam, and I like it even less. SS armbands with cloth tags normally have the tag neatly sewn to the back of the red cloth before the white disc is sewn on.

I think the “St” tag was meant to be used by a firm that adds some stitching to a piece of cloth insignia, like adding the bullion lettering to a cuff title when the band is produced by a different firm. That is why some armbands have 2 tags. In this case, the “St” tag doesn’t seem to make sense.

The printed ones are real , I have gotten those from time to time on direct vet buys over the last 40 years or so. They are about 50/50 found with the woven version. Not as nice as the woven but 100% period. Never saw a plain yellow one with a label like this one before.

Thank you for the information, Nutmeg. Looks like I have another armband to add to the collection!
