SS honor chevron?

I have this item in my collection which I obtained years ago and honestly always thought it was Luftwaffe.

However after viewing a few of these on line it appears it might be an SS honor chevron or Alte Kämpfer chevron.

This is not my area of collecting so your thoughts/ insight are appreciated

Hi Jeremy

I think this chevron is for the Luftwaffe coverall which mechanics wore, hence the black border...the tress is typical of what the Luftwaffe used on rank insignia.

The SS Alte Kämpfer chevron has 2 central black lines in the centre of the aluminium tress, which yours does not have...so would not be an SS Alte Kämpfer chevron
