Has anyone seen something like this before? linen napkin with machine embroidered runes- I have 2 that came together, they certainly aren't new- any opinions appreciated!

well, unless you can track those napkins to an actual owner of the Germanische Leistungsrune, this is very doubtful that anyone was able to embroider such "good" looking sunwheel and runes without the model...
To me this is not believable.
It can be period napkins that were later pimped, it can be anything...
But knowing the regulations of the SS-Hauptamt, it would have been forbidden to have a GL on personal item...
To me those are what they are... napkins with "nice" sunwheel and SS runes.
This is what we have in "varia" categories. Stuff that can be period, but mostly not.
If you paid less than 20 gbp for the two napkins, this is a good price imo.
There are dozen of fantasy items with GL design on them, from watch to glass to ring...
