    New leather wrap on Weitze.

    Hi guys,

Today, on new updates on Weitze website:
    https://www.weitze.fr/militaria/79/W...p__317979.html

Yes, that's very beutiful but I have never seen this kind of jacket used by the SS so ornemented !!

On your opinion, that's a postwar franky?

    Thank you for your opinion.

I have seen it and although it does look nice and has clearly been made from a U -boat leather jacket, I am not sure if they would adorn it with all the insignia and awards...bit like adorning a peadot camo jacket with collar patches, arm eagle and cuff title..

I would assume the jacket has been "upgraded" to make it more saleable and desirable...not sure about the price of it though, seems very high

Photos would be nice - I can't get the link to connect.

Saw it at the Max I believe. Take a leap of faith at best to buy that one, would need a hell of a lot of providence behind it. its a $4000- filler wrap that is a nice display piece, I guess, without any history on it. But there are a lot of closet buyers out there with lots of cash.

                .

These are a minefield but i would love to have a 100% known SS issued one even if stripped, as with this one i have no idea- without the full provenance who knows! These wraps or U boat jackets are seen for sale with the remaining outline of removed eagles sometimes but i have no suspicions half of those have had that outline made on purpose to then claim it was SS issued. From what i see half the time they seem to have worn them with no attached insignia during the period apart from shoulder boards. Perhaps others know more?

The last time i saw one of these like this was on N&T website. It was if i recall presented as a "12th SS" ornamented wrap with Recce shoulder boards. At the same time as well was a 12th SS leather U boat jacket, leather pants and M43 cap also for sale.

                Best Regards,

                Pete
