I always read these posts to try and learn for you guys. I’d never claim to be an expert on SS material, but looking at the skull tab that bottom jaw literally and figuratively sticks out to me. But then again I know the seller is well respected.

SS Overcoat

Mat, If you look at the underside of the collar where the collar tab is sewn, you can see the hand sewn thread work. Not sure if that means it's not period, but it might look the same if restored. Maybe someone can show a period example of an EM overcoat with hand sewn tabs and then you could decide. My EM black overcoat I had years ago was restored and the tabs were sew the same. My officers black coat were machine sewn. Just my 2 cents.

I personally see no issues with this coat!..I’ve seen them with hand applied tabs before. I would post my coat but it’s unissued and would be no help but The coat itself looks good to me.

As far as pics allow, I don't see issues with this overcoat, aside the skull collar tab which need more careful scrutiny.

Maybe the "skull guys"could help with the bottow jaw issue,as J. Warren pointed out.
What about the chevron?Is silver thread in the black border correct?Shouldn´t it be all black?
