    SD Ever Seen in Camo?

Odd question, but has anyone ever seen a pic of an SD man wearing an article of camo clothing, either standard issue or privately tailored?

    Yes. Extremely rare to see.

If the personnel of commandant's office of SD participated in anti-guerrilla actions, what prevented to put on camouflage clothes?
Sonderkommando of SD Sk 7A during anti-guerrilla operation in Bellorusiya's woods.

Do you know what kind of insignia the grumpy Kraut standing closest to the camera has sewn on his left sleeve? Doesn't look like a sleeve diamond.

            Yes, sleeve raute.

Interesting to see the head mosquito nets in use.

It could very well be of course that this was a joint operation between SD and W-SS.
I assume the soldiers in camo are actually W-SS; also their combat equipment is not that usualy seen by SD troops.

To me it looks like an armband 'scrunched' at where his elbow is.
Way too high for a raute.
If it was a raute he would have an eagle on his sleeve and probably collar tabs.as well; don't see any.

Most likely it is just an armband.

It does appear as though there is a sleeve eagle present on what looks to be a custom tailored summer-weight tunic. Also, it looks like he's badged out as at least an Untersturmfuhrer, although he seems to be wearing an EM belt buckle.

I do not agree; the SD raute is positioned correctly - although a bit high which is not unusual- and there is IMO clear evidence of an sleeve eagle. The tunic is the SD summer tunic with lower slash pockets. The absence of collar tabs on these tunics is not uncommon.

As I have already said, IMO the soldiers with smocks and covers are regular Waffen-SS and NOT SD.

                      Thanks.
