Based on these images, the cap's construction and materials it's made from are questionable IMO. The damage doesn't convince me either.

Also, it looks like the cap and tunic were made from the exact same black trikot fabric which is very suspicious.

The gabardine material isn't what I'd expect for an Allgemeine uniform. Normally these are the more trikot weave stuff. This looks bad to me, along with the weird sweatshield in the cap.

Another thing which is curious is the white piping is still mainly intact around the cap....usually that's the first thing to get eaten away.
Not to mention the paper tag under the shoulderboard hasn't been touched either?

I'd like to think it's all original, but as mentioned earlier what happened to the metal insignia? Why remove that but leave the rest intact?
Another thing is that the critters had the decency not to eat the wool on the SD diamond.

            .

            Very interesting...

It could be either 1. Real, untouched, as is, or 2. Insignia sewn to maybe cheaply obtained "barn find" tunic in effort to sell the lot as is as "untouched" or in parts- and you know such finds have interests (PM inbox bombarded) to sell it in full or parts. I'm not versed on insignia real or fake though i must say! We actually saw the barn find tunic with fake insignia a while ago as far as i know, or vice versa. Buy the item not the story or the "emotional buy/assessment" is what i get out of it. The first thing i noticed was the same phenomenon as the last item like this, the first 10 seconds i was looking at it, and then noticing that some parts are not touched by the damage and moths, not even corrosion like residue on the bullion from elements, yet are also worth serious money as rare items, maybe even the most valuable of the whole item as it is. Just my 2 cents.

            Best Regards,

            Pete

Thanks all for commets .I want react on some post. Black trikot fabric is not the same on both, one is soft, thin on cap, on jacket it looks similar, but it is not. White piping is touched too, but not so much as another parts, SD diamond is bitten too, but, only soft, about paper tag under the shoulderboard, it is normaly, then this parts are no touched, if there is not so much humidity and gait adn so on it can hold like this, not first item found on attic, under roof looks like this... Items were found in Sudetenland and it is not first item I see little bit another then clasic standard. I have no doubt about this item, I do not want to sell it. I just want to post it and show it for others

Here holds the key to the story.
Found in Sudetenland. Did these National Socialists of the Sudetenland make their own style of cloth and cap material available at this time?
Local cloth and material would make sense in this case if story is true.

                  Hi,

guys, it is doubtful that a crook may have created this trick to maybe fool collectors... The crook would make more money to try to sell it "new" (and fake).

                  See You

I think it‘s a private purchase original. Sometimes a strange cut made items. Cannot see the reason of such a artifical tricks, destroyng the original cuff title and armband. Finding original parts, making nice high shaped hat with such a strange liner, at least expirienced and talented knowledgeable idiot tailor must be there. The price of this ensemble will not go high, and most probably a ilttle bit more than all original insignia there

I am not an expert in SS cloth, but I would have to say that the damage and age to both items are somewhat suspect, IMO. The cap especially seems like it has been done to death.

It's a bit odd to me that the cap has no insignia.

                                That is the expensive part.
