First Pattern SS Sport Patch. Opinions Please!

    Hello,

I have been looking on line and through my books and have seen a few examples. I have 3 more books coming. But I always like to ask the experts on this forum.

I have this first edition SS Sports Patch. I think it is probably fake after trying to find an example listed here and on Warrelics. I bought it with some other known good sport patches. I plan on returning to the seller. Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks Rick

    Here are the pictures.

    Hi Rick!

Yes Sir, unfortunately you are correct. These are most often a bevo
Weave and some are chain stitched (dual purpose pennant and sport patch).

It is a modern repro and yes - get your money back Sir.

Have to agree, not even close. Just got your PM and looked at it.

Modern computer generated stitching and material easily gives this away as a fake.

          100% modern.

The white Tyvek like backing is an instant give away on any third Reich item. When exposed to black light it will nearly blind you.

As stated, the early white runes on black are normally found chain stitched or BeVo. The BeVo one is very similar to the normal black on white, except that the colors are reversed.
