Feed up with Catawiki fakes !

    Hi,

    https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/...ebensborn-iron

please notice that the "expert" Pierre de Breucker (who seemed to lack a bit of militaria knowledge and critical mind) is the moral caution for hundred of fantasy/fake items proposed on Catawiki for years...
Please also notice that Catawiki is not replying anymore when you report a fake/fantasy item, i suspect Pierre de Breucker is not investigating the reports.

So "Ardennes44" (the seller) found an old iron "with a swastika" (not shown on the pictures !) on the area of the Wegimont Lebensborn and - BAM ! - the iron is now an SS-Lebensborn iron !

I wonder how many dozen of old irons from the area became SS-Lebensborn one !
    This is ridiculous !

    See You

If this one sells, then all of them will be.

The Swastika has been used as a good luck symbol by a lot of cultures - some for thousands of years.

Not every Swastika is from the Third Reich.

Fakes on Catawiki can be found among all types of lots

              Dear Vince,

Unfortunately, it does not surprise me that there are many fakes on Catawiki. My experience shows that the so-called expert auctioneers have no expertise in their respective fields on many occasions at all.
They cannot distinguish real items from fake. Sometimes it seems they have no idea about what they are doing, and their price estimates have nothing to do with the reality.
Recently I read an article on smartshoppingschool.com and it correlates with my experience. It shows how unprofessional these "expert" auctioneers are. Although this article is mainly about jewelry and gemstones it gives a very good insight into how those "experts" work. It cannot be excluded that they benefit from allowing sales of fake items...
If you would like to find out more here is the link: https://www.smartshoppingschool.com/...-fake-jewelry/

              Regards, H.S.

                    Hi,

many thanks H.S. for your link, it is a very interesting article on fake jewelry and gems proposed on Catawiki.

I saved the whole article and i'm including it below in a 4-part PDF collection.

                    Worth reading imo.

                    See You

What a ridiculous claim to make. They say it's WW1 era, so are we to believe the SS in the 1940's sought out household implements marked with a swastika?
