That aiguillette should not be attached on the button of the shoulderstrap.
I think it shouldn't be attached on a mantel anyway.

I like the mantel very well. Insignia are for sure original.
Are there pictures available from the inside please?

What is going on on the left shoulder? Stitching of the shoulderseam looks broken?

Are you asking for pictures of inside of the coat?

There is one picture on the first page, but I will have to get more from inside.

            Coat

Looks like a an unmessed with original with the addition of the shoulder aiguillette. Although it looks nice there, likely not typically worn on an overcoat as already stated.

              SS Overcoat

Wanted to show what a difference there can be between the typical enlisted factory coat and your gorgeous officers private purchase overcoat. As you can see mine has no cuff and my tabs were replaced in my opinion. However the coat itself shows typical factory and date stamps. Must admit, yours is elegant compared to my enslisted guy but great score if you get it. Pretty rare item.

The aiguillettes on the OP are for a Heer officer's tunic, not SS. Cannot comment on the overcoat itself.

                            Love this coat. Very cool.
These aiguillettes are officers dress/parade aiguillettes. Same style worn by Army and SS. The SS aiguillette was the " adjudants aiguillette ". The Adjudants Aiguillette I believe were worn with greatcoats. At least one photo comes to mind of Karl Wolff wearing an adjudants aiguillette with coat.

Is there any label in this coat?

Also, I am curious if anyone here has successfully repaired a set of officers parade aiguillettes that have broken tension wires?

Thanks, guys - I learn something every day. David, when you refer to a "tension wire", are you referring the the braid itself or the thin attachment strings?
