The Russian set looks original and very nice, the issue is, it is in Russia, I dont know the seller, never met or heard of him, but in all reality that means nothing, there are so many collectors I dont know. However, its not like buying something from a well known dealer or collector in terms of knowing the person has what he says he has, is the owner, etc etc, it is in Russia, having lived there that means a lot, postage, delivery, recourse. The price is almost too good to be true, which, raises additional red flags. If you pay by paypal, I assume you are protected if you use the p roper option, but if things go wrong, what is your recourse, fly to Russia, look for someone in a foreign country you dont know?

Thanks for the analysis and that's why I did not pursue it . As you say lots of unknown. Even if you did use PayPal ( non friends and family ) if it was lost and you said it was a nazi totenkopf division item , who knows if PayPal would hide behind some hidden clause in their contract to get out of paying.

Sad, because I´m sure there are good guys in Russia, too. Understandable though.

There are good, and bad guys everywhere, however one has to minimize the potential risks and factor the likelihood of loss in any transaction. I have a literally flown overseas to pick up items where I did not wish to except the risk of loss.
