SS Sleeve Diamond (Reichskommissariat fur Festigung des Deutschen Volksturm)

Hi all, today at a local militaria show I purchased this sleeve diamond for a few bucks. The seller described it as "some sort of labor patch" and I figured it might be a little more significant than that. I believe it to be a Reichskommissariat fur Festigung des Deutschen Volkstum diamond, however I am unable to find another one in gold/silver bullion with the border. I was informed that this may actually be an honor badge or award of sorts, and was to be worn on a formal uniform. Any input is helpful! Has anyone seen a variant like this before, and if so, what is its significance compared to the standard examples?

I don't think that my diamond purports to be the same as a standard diamond, but I do think they're related. I have confidence in bullion quality and construction of the diamond. Either way, I have very little money at stake here.

It would have been interesting to see the back, without the backing. If you have so little into it, why don't you take that backing off??

I have very little money invested in it, but I still wouldn't want to dissect it if it ends up being original.
