    Polizei Division officer collar tabs?

These are obviously Polizei pattern collar tabs but in the regular police the branch farbe was never changed.
We know it was done in the Polizei Division in 1942 and earlier. The artillery regiment officers sometimes had their officer collar tabs modified with red added farbe for their branch.

Perhaps Polizei Division doctors added blue cord material? Could these be blue medical but turned purple (due to unstable dye? a common occurrence)
or is it a priest in the Polizei Division (before it became Waffen SS?)

    What are these?

Here something similar, from the Polizei Division Artillery Regiment.
the collar tab was from an officer in that division (who started his career in the Deutschland Reg)
and promoted from NCO to officer (at Tolz)

So perhaps from a doctor in the Polizei Regiment?
The blue turning more purple overtime?
I got these for $85 including postage!

        Nick,

Interesting collar tabs. Police regulations for Medical Doctors were that the green collar tab background was changed to blue. So, regulation Polizei medical collar tabs would have had blue backing instead of blue Waffenfarbe inserts with green backing. I have a named Polizei Medical Doctor Schupo tunic with the blue backed collar tabs so that is the way they were officially worn. Not to say that the Pol. Div. did not have such transitional insignia but these are not in the official regulations.

Yes good info so basically the same tabs as army parade tunics blue backed all together for regular Polizei branch medical officers. The armed Police Division (later fully WSS) used more military influenced insignia such as shoulder straps for enlisted and Polizei officer collar tabs sometimes like mine and like their artillery branch which were modified) Unclear if that was officially regulated or personal preference (for them to stand out as armed forces!)...more likely the latter which makes these so unique...

It appears actually that in the Polizei the medical officers used administrative gray backed collar tabs along with military style doctors shoulderboards based on this surviving tunic...So not blue backed...

Interesting thread link as the tunic is armed forces style... So field gray with a dark greeen collar.

But in the Polizei Division (armed forces) officers often used their standard Polizei green backed collar tabs and some had their service branch farce modified
(blue medical, red artillery etc..) until they changed to SS tabs in mid 1942

I am as confused by the photos shown in the linked post as Joe was. Frankly, I am not certain what is going on with this fellow and his uniforms.

The specifications for blue backed collar tabs for Police Medical Officers are found in the period German Police regulations. They are also clearly shown as blue in the color uniform plates published by the German Police. These official color uniform plates can be found in the back of Police Calendar books and elsewhere. The color drawing of a Police Medical Officer shown above is artistic but not an official uniform plate by any means.

Never say never, but the green backed collar tabs with blue Waffenfarbe that you show are not police regulation.

Thanks but this is why I started the thread here...in the SS section and not in the Polizei forum section....as I never said it was a polizei branch anomaly. On the contrary I am saying it is a possible Polizei Division practice...The fighting force which btw the color plate depicts with SS sleeve eagle.
Has nothing to do with OrdPo or SchuPo nothing to do with Polizei regulations...where polizei medical staff would wear different tabs. Again I am referring to the surviving Polizei Division artillery regiment surviving modified polizei pattern collar tabs which prove this practice was done ONLY in the Polizei Division fighting force until mid 1942. (after that W-SS tabs were used)
The thread is titled Polizei Division (not Polizei)

That period officer photo in the link is a strange Polizei anomaly (but unrelated to the Polizei Division discussion) as he wears a Polizei sleeve eagle, (other picture) and not a W-SS eagle. But the tunic is armed forces with a bottle green collar...an army transfer to Polizei and he kept his tunic, rebadging it...apparently with gray Polizei admin backed tabs as opposed to the proper polizei medical blue backed ones...
