EM boards without litzen?

    EM boards without litzen?

    Hi all:
    I just acquired a pair of early Waffen SS shoulder boards in rather 'disconnected' condition. As you can see in pic #1 the underside piece is separated from the shoulder board. Pic #2 shows stitching holes. #3 is a width comparison picture showing a repro infantry board laying underneath the original. Could this original board have had the litzen (whatever the original colour) removed? More to the point, is it possible to acquire some original lizen and sew it into place to complete these original boards? Thanks for your insight.
