        I don’t have enough knowledge on these to comment but I believe they came in green black and field grey!..I’m sure if original it’s quite rare. Haven’t seen many in black.

          I have only ever seen Field-grey and black,
          Black are quite common to find if you look hard enough

                Hmmm learn something new everyday!..I’m not much of a insignia collector. Maybe that’s why I’ve never seen many.

                  The real rare ones are black runes on white wool....

                    Regulations and specs ordered SS breast runes be embroidered on uniform cloth hence insignia also on Police mottle-green, dark blue or white backing ... but don't expect them on SS camo pea-dot pattn fabric.
