I can’t speak of it now but I know of a book coming in the near future. My friend Norbert Podlesny has a very nice book out. Lots of pictures of originals.

I used to feel that way, but the deeper i get into collecting (and I'm 55) the more I realize we need to make sure we document the tragic reality of what we collect. Reminders like these stars are necessary when we are in a hobby where some collectors consider words like "cool" appropriate descriptors of posthumous Purple Hearts, blood stained helmets and SS uniforms.

[These stars are, in my opinion, no more “militaria” than collecting the paving bricks of Dresden’s city center that were exposed to the allied firestorm where survivor Kurt Vonnegut described the outcome as: "[U]Dresden was like the moon ... nothing but minerals.[/U
Attaching some deep significance to these lends far to much ‘significance’ to Sefton Delmer’s work during the war. Delmer, the British chief propagandist during the war, commented after the capitulation of Germany in 1945 to the German expert on international law Prof. Grimm: “[U][B]We won this war with atrocity propaganda...and now we will start more than ever! We will continue this atrocity propaganda, we will increase it until... ]

No, perhaps not militaria, but historical artifacts. And just as some have in their collections dirt from Gettysburg or sand from Omaha Beach, a charred brick from Dresden is a historical marker.
And I cannot agree with Delmer's postwar conclusion. (Nor can I stomach any allusion to the holocaust as propaganda.)
Regards the Western Allies treatment of Germany after WWII, I am more reminded of The Mouse That Roared
"Prime Minster Count Rupert Mountjoy, Duchy of Grand Fenwick: 'You must remember, the Americans are a very strange people. Whereas other countries rarely forgive anything, the Americans forgive anything. There isn't a more profitable undertaking for any country than to declare war on the United States and to be defeated.' "

Hmmm, I am late to the show as it were but I have sold a few of these stars over the years some right here on this forum. This final star here for review is not one that I am comfortable with. Others can disagree for sure but if it were offered to me I would pass.
          Just my two cents,
          Eric

            Hi,

to me the French yellow star looks good.

Below are two confirmed originals :

            - the first one was the one of Annette Mendel,

            - the second one was the one of Jacqueline Amado (from French archives).

            See You

The holocaust is a fact, there is no disputing that. We will not be having any BS denials on this forum. Stay to the topic of the originality or lack thereof of the stars.
                Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.
