    Tabs

Reproductions. All aspects of both tabs are incorrect. Runes construction is sub par and rank tab buckram is incorrect.

Charles nailed it. The only thing that looks OK is the pip.

You should have left them with the fleas.

Hold on a tick, how is this rune tab all that different from the one in this thread ?

I wouldn't touch either with a 10 foot pole since I am sticking to textbook pieces , but always eager to learn....

                      This is an interesting situation . . . .
As I believe this particular tab has a chance
Just because its not a standard issued runic its condemned
But for me the said runic it has all the correct components to create one
I personally like it and it appears so do a few others too
This runic took some time and patience to make.
It also shows it has been worn on a tunic of some sort.
                      Regards David

I too have all text book example . . .
but there are more character items out there which aren't fakes or junk.
If one is prepared to take the job on then so be it
I believe the one I put up for opinion and it seems some agreed and some didn't that suits me . . . .
The reason I chose this tab was it wasn't one that was knocked up in a few seconds.
There has been a lot of time spent on this tab and therefore I have given it a place in my collection
                        Regards David

Don't get me wrong , I'm sure with your vast tab collection , at some point you have to branch out to keep collecting. It wasn't meant as an insult to you.

No not at all Sir . . .
its that I feel if you keep an eye out . . . .
From time to time you come across these tabs that are what appears to be home made and nothing like standard issue.
Like you and many others I used to dismiss them out of hand the I started to wonder why?
We all know that there were many occasion that the oddments were made due to shortage of insignia this also includes SS tabs too.
Therefore I started to give them a chance and room in my collection.
You never know they just might of been there
                            Regards David
