Markings are original and textbook IMO. Pre war, 38 stamped, dress style. Not crazy over the lacquer type finish and can say if heel pad is period or not. You will have to make that call

its not the liquor finish
its the anti dry lether treatment i apply to prevent cracking
it will be absorbed and dull looking finish will be back shortly
