Probably many of you have seen this particular photo, but did you noticed that those soldier are wearing M42 smocks over M44 dot camo jackets ?

Wow neat! Known image but never paid attention to that detail...
Camo over camo...overkill...BUT the smocks also allow for rain protection...
the M44 dots do not! So a secondary function besides camo...

Not proven. This is one of those photos that always gets tossed around as a number of divisions. Nobody seems to know the actual source for it, or any actual proof that it's GvB
