Thanks collectors for your replies. This original owner also had loops for an award on the right pocket. The tunic might be traceable. Not sure.

The options on that pocket really are the DKiG, Spain Cross or the Ottoman War Medal ... looking at the loops the DKIG would be favourite. That really rules out the KL option in my opinion.

It doesn't look like there was any hard and fast rule for the piping direction.
If it was as you suggest it should be, then that was probably attention to detail
from who ever constructed the tunic (tailor).
