    skull ring - question

    Hello,
if you could write anything about this ring. I have only these two pics.

Well, I have two examples of the kantinenring that most nearly resemble this one- the “smiling skull” looks very similar in its skull/crossbones design, usually with a fine thin silver band. I’ve not seen it with a thicker tread-like band, and would be very cautious to look at all angles to make sure it is a die struck ring and not a cast copy, or a put-together. I’d prefer a put-together of an original skull with a high quality band over a completely cast piece (I have the former for sale on the bazaar table). It could very well be a fine period piece as far as I know, but I would (and I’m speaking solely for myself, and only in my honest opinion) probably not purchase as an original solely based on these two photos and would look closely at the photos of all angles to see what I was buying (so, top-down, Behind the skull, inner band, etc.) hope that helps.
