It’s a known period pattern that of course has been reproduced. Any markings on the inside? There’s a very good American made copy that’s been around for ages that’s nearly identical. Not SS, just a private purchase kantinenring.

* yes copied very well for many years. You would need good detailed photos inside and out for an authentication..
As mentioned its a good wartime pattern. . But private purchase meant that anyone with the money could have bought one. There weren't many civilians as one way or another most Germans belonged to some type of military or para military group. Skulls were the most popular I'd say. Army, KM, Luft, HJ, RAD, and of course the SS..
