SS cloth lot for potential purchase -British SS Tab?

Hey all,

These pieces are at a local dealer. I have bought product from him in the past, and have always had a great experience. He's got a stash of SS cloth that he doesn't have on display that we talk about from time to time, and we were looking through it yesterday. He's very confident on a lot of the pieces, but not sure on a a few. He mentioned that one of the tabs was supposedly an actual British SS tab! He has one that he feels is a repro, and one that quite possibly could be legit. They are pictured side by side below, with the repro on the left and the (hopefully) legit one on the right.

There's also a Bevo SS runes tab, and a few others.

The one of particular interest is the black sleeve diamond that supposedly has ties to Hitler's staff.

It bears mentioning that the dealer is not pushing any of this on me (he's not giving me a story to sell me some stuff) and is genuinely interested in knowing if the tabs are good as well.

Thoughts and opinions are most appreciated, as I will certainly pick up a few of these pieces if they are in fact good.

Gentlemen,

Your thoughts above mirror the dealer's opinion to the letter. He's had the questionable insignia for many years and as I mentioned before, was not actively offering any of this for sale. As we got chatting, he showed me this batch and he said of the BFC and Hitler's staff patch "If those are real, wouldn't that be something"?

If anything, it bolsters my opinion of the dealer as he felt perfectly confident about the pieces that you all have authenticated. Too bad about the others, but I know they're "needle in a haystack" things to begin with.

Which marksmen grade diamond is that, and is that something I should jump on? (I imagine there are different grades?)

There are 3 grades, this being the middle one '1st Class'.

I agree with everyone else as to authenticity.

However, Ian forgot one of the 4 marksmanship diamonds:

Target only
Target with 2 oakleaves
Target with wreath around half of the target
Target with full wreath

Two leaves seems to be the most common, but is still a desirable item.

Am I correct in thinking that no authentic British Free Korp tabs have ever surfaced then?

Only one BFC is known,and that got lost in the legal system.
