I think the jacket is the Italian M40 made in wool for the Alpini

IMO insigna are bad, tunic looks a good one.
It is the second italian SS tunic with black insigna I see are in a week, I think someone started to fake them in a consistent number.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

        tunic

Certainly the eagle, EK ribbon and epaulettes look to be replaced. They did make thier own collar tabs in black I believe and these are non standard and look to have been on there a long time, they normally just take a set of standard SS collar tabs and put them on. Maybe some closer photos of the tabs to see if they do look to have been on there for some time.

The collar patches are sewn in origin, in the photo of the back side of the neck it can see that they are sewn with the same thread as the reinforcements of the neck.
The badges are made in velvet like those used by the Italian SS.
The arm badge is sewn by machine as can be seen in the pieces of the period

Well that's a problem because no issue Italian uniform left the factory with Italian SS insignia already sewn on . Who ever sewed it on tried to match it. The eagle is a fake plain and simple . I'll bet 95 % of the Italian SS enlisted men sewed their insignia on by hand when the insignia was distributed onto whatever they were issued or had on their backs .

Even if you had an Italian SS Tunic complete with all absolutely original insignia you would be hard pressed without provenance to prove it was original sewn to tunic .

By the way this tunic was discussed on this board previously .
