    Looking for photo landstorm exploding grenade button

    I recently found a button with exploding grenade on it. Typically landwacht/landstorm design. Now I'm looking for a photograph where they are in wear.
    Anyone?

    That button was never meant for Landwacht or Landstorm , but for the Dutch police ( " Staatspolitie " ) .
    It may even be for pre-war Koninklijke Marechaussee ( military police ) , the only difference being that wartime buttons for Staatspolitie were in zinc ..

      Landstorm Cap / Collar tab metal Insignia

      Willi Van Bynen, period photo

      Foreign Legions of the Third Reich, Vol 2, by David Littlejohn. R. James BenderPublishing San Jose, Ca. 1981.

      I have a similar set from the Baltic theatre 1944 area with the same cap insignia, but the collar tabs have a metal vertical wolfsangel attached with this particular divisional group, although I believe they were in fact replacement troops for the Dutch regiments in the 11th Nordland, or later the 23rd Nederland division.

        He has the grenade on his cap & collar , but NOT on his buttons - which was the question asked .
        Buttons with this grenade were police issue ..

          Thanks! I was convinced that it was Landstorm/wacht!

            Maybe I'm missing some picture in the topic to compare but the only exploding bomb button I know of being worn by the Landwacht is a small diameter one ( approx. 17 mm, not a uniform button size ), with stamp A&S ( Assmann & Sohne ), comes from a VT Schiffchen with front button as worn by the Landwacht, the eye on the back is vertical as with the VT skull button. Must have a picture of it somewhere in wear, somewhere ... sorry for the bad pic., light isn't that well at the moment.

                Still a regular Staatspolitie / " Schalkhaar " button , but it's the smaller size for pockets , shoulderboards and visorstrap . On mine , the outer shell can be turned , so the eye can be horizontal or vertical .

                I would not be surprised if someone in Landwacht did use one on a VT style sidecap , but I haven't seen a picture yet . I did see wolfsangels or grenades worn on front of a sidecap , so anything is possible .

                  From " Sipo en SD in Twente " by Dutch author Coen Cornelissen ;

                  both are pictures of Landwacht , who were not known for their uniformity in clothing .

                  First picture shows cufftitle ..

                    You're absolutely right on "non uniformity in clothing", last two pictures show it all . Collar patches being worn horizontally, vertically ... small bombs, bigger bombs ... you'll find it everywhere. I'll have a look around if I can find the picture with the Schalkhaar button but, as Lst. Lw. is not my field of interest, chance I'll find it quickly will be a stroke of luck. I have also once been trying to make some sense of the different branches and their (bomb) insignia, for instance the amount of bursting flames/smoke on visor insignia, you'll find 7, 8, 9 and 11 bursts ... so what is what?
