Ken,
The ss stamp is not, the item would be stamped after it was finished as you can clearly see the stamp is below the thread, the SS stamp is also different to the other stamps in that it looks deeper.

also normally the SS is stamped first then the contract code and year then the RZM mark, although when VA stamped the ss follows,

IMO it has had the stamped added and then re-sewn

You are right: the thread can't be that white on a belt in such condition.

I would expect more a VA stamp in the first circle, but for me the leather is resawn and the stamping does look good for me.
