I think everyone here is familiar with the famous photo of Skorzeny when he emerges from the palace in Budabest shortly after operation panzerfaust.
Skorzeny seems to be wearing a custom tailored tunic that does not resemble any of the usual patterns. It's a wool tunic with straight sleeves without french cuffs, wide open collar with 4 buttons of the front, and four pleated pockets as opposed to just two on the chest which is the usual amount for full open collar SS officers tunics.
So it seems to me that officers could have had their uniforms made in the way they desired to, and not exactly according to a certain pattern. How common was this?
