SS Visor Cap Insignia - Your Opinions

    Gentlemen,
I am looking for your opinions on this set of SS visor cap insignia. They look OK to me but I am not the experts many of you are. Thank you for any input.

OK, good to know. What are the details that make them "bad fakes?"
          Thanks!

Just to clarify, this skull is known as the mustache fake and the eagle is it's well known mate.
You can search the forum for more info, but these are way different from any originals.

              Hope this helps!

                  Hi,

There are many variations of originals, but here is one nice original skull for your study, (courtesy of John T.). This is the most common, (and favored by most), early full jaw 1934 pattern SS skull made by Deschler & Sohn. These are made of CupAl, which is a clad sandwich of two sheets of copper, (front and back), with a thicker aluminum core in the center. These were made like clad coins and were die struck. They were also silver plated. This one, as most are found, shows only some silver remaining on the surface. Take note of the realistic and sharp details as these are the key to telling originals from the fakes. Hope this helps!
