Mauro, Don't get offended. Nobody is calling anyone a liar. It is a common occurrence that vets sometimes pick up things afterwards and say that that is what they used during the war. But I would want to know if this actual smock is the one he was issued and used during his actual service time, verses one he picked up after the war and wore around to reunions, etc. I don't think anyone is saying that the situation isn't possible. Just that the attention is in the details.

Marc I am not absolutely offended.
I have other material to retire in copy, I am happy to talk with family and preserve memories.
I request if have soldbuch but imo not .they have promotions awards certificates and medals and other. Some members know but better to keep secret.
The history is simple... one member sold only the Tarn to a famous dealer which know only the name and role + wrong division.
I bought the jacket from him and with some hundreds hour of work I found seller and family.
Some things are in actual home and hard to get, grandson take many items after death and do not sell. The items are of Hiag period without wartime memorabilia plus some pre war and pow items.
Family told me, as chat, the only wartime tunic was the Tarn and send to ,me the Pic in wear at Mogo. I have also WhatsApp conversation.
I think there is not too much to say.
That is the story, who believe will believe. I do not pretend to be trusted, Tarn is in my home with DVD and a nice folder of documents translated.
Of course is also my interest to translate diaries and interviews.
May be wartime pics will come out.. I asked for it also if there is distance now to the Gert home.
There are also some objectives reason family would be quiet and a German speaker could easily found in internet.

Might not be a reunion, but look at the photo of the vet in the smock in the beginning of this thread. He is obviously wearing it in public.
