From these pics it looks fine.

            General thoughts:

            * A full frontal shot would be helpful

            * It appears that improvised bridals have been attached. Some of these tunics came without bridals, and some had the Italian style of tapering channel with no button at the end. When these were attached is hard to say, but a very easy restoration to put a pair on that look correct (these look like a 10-yr old did it for a sewing class assignment).

            * Bevo tropical sleeve eagles are plentiful so a nice professional restoration job will be pretty easy.

I think these are one of the sharpest garments the Germans had and when dressed up nicely really make a fashion statement for a collection

Good luck with the acquisition and/or restoration.

            vr

              Hi
              Thanks
i think i can restore the eagle, but not sure about tabs.
these were hardly to find with originally applied tabs so may so better leave it that way

any other opinions on the jacket itsef?

              Cheers

                Hi Petra,

I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding you're post, or you're misunderstanding mine, but I would not put tabs (collar tabs) on this jacket. I was not suggesting that at all. What I was suggesting is fixing those gnarly looking shoulder strap loops and the button and putting a nice set of straps on.

Although there are numerous period pics of these being worn with collar tabs by a couple of units I think most collectors would look at one on the market today with collar tabs as being an embellished project tunic.
