WSS Oberscharführer panzer tabs

Hi to everyone....
We're talking about a pair of WSS Oberscharführer panzer tabs
Usually I gave up to get such pair of tabs.
But in this case I decided to give'em a chance.....the tabs itself are for sure good but the the question is: when the piping has been added?.Both piping are neatly and skillfully attached with green cotton thread and I have to say that the overall is very uniform and the a very convincing “patina”.
I don't have any documents and any stories behind them but I'm “quite” sure they are an original and period piped panzer SS tabs, and just for records they came from a reputably source...

Ok.. here we are with pics....and as usual every opinions are welcome in order to learn somethings more about...

You are right to be skeptical. From what I can tell from photos: original tabs worn, with no wear to the piping? Maybe photos don't show the true wear on piping. I don't know. Various mix of snaps? I dont see the rust on snaps coming through to the thread? Just some observations.

Basic tabs are good. With these Panzer piped tabs the question is when was the piping applied? I agree with galizien41 that the lack of wear on the piping raises a question, one I can not answer yea or nay. One other question I have is when was the lower pip replaced? It appears on the surface to be almost pristine and in a different pattern than that of the upper pip. I would accept the tabs as is but with a bit of doubt. Perhaps as a put together with period materials.

Thanks for your opinions...I really appreciate and I fully understand your doubts........
Honestly I realize that's really hard .....and probably dangerous, but having them in hand I decided to give'em a chance and keep'em.......the level of wear seems more evident in hand, the different kinds of snaps IMHO are a point in favour...I'd be more skeptical with 8 same snaps..for sure they are not made in factory.. of course any doubts are legit...
