    ss m40 overcoat

    Hello,

Is this a original ss overcoat?
Because of the continuous seams on the coat and are a few details left from the stitching's of the ss bird?
    All information is welcome

For sale on Facebook for € 1000,- located in Hasselt Belgium.

The add says: "rare Waffen SS coat Model 40, in excellent condition. Hard to improve!

This is NOT a Wehrmacht coat, but a rare Waffen SS coat.
The stamps in the coat, on the innerbackside, the construction (a seem running from the shoulder to the pocket, the pockets tilted) is different than a Wehrmacht coat.
The fabric is way better than the average Wehrmacht coat
        and all buttons originaly sewn.

The place of the eagle is hardly visible, no ghost visible because the coat is hardly worn at all. Some stitching is visible though.
Also a light print and stitching of the rank insignia on the leftsleeve is visible.
        Fits a mannequin.
Rare original SS coat with of course guarantee of originality.".

I am not experienced at all, just thought the add text would be welcome as well.

I can only agree that it is SS, it is very rare and is in top condition of course less insignia. I would think that it dates from probably 1942. I have not seen more than a couple from this earlier war period (w-SS) even in books and on line included in maybe 30 years of knowing one if I saw it.

I own this overcoat. It’s currently for sale.
Without any doubt a perfect waffen ss overcoat.
                    It’s in almost unused condition.
Anyone who’s interested can contact me
