    Question about cufftitles being worn

    Hello all,

Quite a novice in this field, so because of that my possible stupid question.

Late war period, mid 1944 onwards, did all WSS soldiers wear their division's cufftitle?
Or could it be possible that some soldiers at let us say the Ardennes campaign did not wear a cufftitle, although they were part of the Hitlerjugend or the Leibstandarte for example?

    Best,
    Nico

    Cuff Titles

I believe Waffen-SS cuff titles were awarded. There are many cases of Waffen-SS personnel wearing two; and in one case, three cuff titles. Here is a link referring to the practice of wearing multiple cuff titles: https://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=69821 .

it also depends on the uniform worn. Many of the HJ Division were outfitted with dot camo uniforms and would not have worn them on those.

I have also heard that the HJ cuff was "awarded" so not everyone got one unless deemed worthy. Many of officers in the HJ Div were pulled from the LAH, so many continued to wear the AH cufftitle as a show of pride. (or they just didn't get the HJ one)

Not all members in the Divisions would have worn cuff titles.
The Cuff was considered an honourable embellishment.
More often than not members had to live through a Baptism of Fire,
or even several, to qualify or warrant the wear of the Divisions Cuff.
From 1944 onwards some outside drafts were also entering the Waffen SS,
namely excess Luffwaffe and Naval personel who had lost their purpose
in their respective Force of Arms.
At this stage in the war the Waffen SS were slowing being drained of their Elan.
Adolf Hitler even ordered Waffen SS forces in the Balaton area to remove their
Cuffs in a act of feeling betrayed. The reaction being from the field commanders
was to put the cuffs in a piss-pot and fill it with the necessary liquid and return
        it to the Fuhrer.

But it is bull. As simple as that. It never happened. End of story.
