    SS manufacturing equipment

It's been a long time since I posted here. I do travel a lot in search for old manufacturing equipment. Some are hunting for German rings but some are hunting for old machines that were used to make those rings

I think I scored this time - SS manufacturing equipment - press.

Yes you did, Hap!!!! I remember the thread you started on another site (currently down) with some amazing equipment finds and hauls- I believe last we heard they were in your garden? Did they make it inside (before the winter, and with the permission of the Mrs. ?? ) That looks like an INCREDIBLE find, what was it used for?? Ive been enjoying your posts for years now and look forward to reading more!...

This one was used in small parts fabrication (cutting and forming).
Yes and that "garden sculpture" - friction press is inside now, I built house around it.

I was wondering the same thing. They aren't the classic 1933-45 SS type runes. I know nothing of industrial machine equipment so I ask to gain knowledge.

This type of runes is known on SS rings. If I remember correct on neighbor forum Odal recently showed this type of rune ring and period advert with these runes.

I can only guess. This could be made for SS or made in some SS controlled manufacture (for example some labour camp). Last explanation sounds more plausible for me.

These things were used everywhere starting from jewelry making to gun making or tank or ship building. Everywhere where was some stamping, piercing etc involved.

Mostly they were used for trimming excess material after stamping. For example trimming skull of TK ring after stamping

Hole piercings in not very thick metal, I'd say up to 2mm. It is faster to pierce hole in metal than drill and hole is more accurate.

These particular presses comes from known jewelry maker firm that went out of business long ago.

I also own a (very rare) original ss enamel ring with similar runes, it was my find of the year at the max show. Thankfully Gaspare was with me, he also owned one many years ago. Those are the only originals I have ever seen. I’ll post some pics at some point.
