Good evening John, a photo of the eagle on the fez wouldn't hurt ... the skull is A-ok.

        Awesome! Congratulations!!

I'd love to see close-ups of the Fez eagle and TK, if not too much trouble!

        Thanks for sharing these!

The eagle is the 'Silky Grey' so often found on these. Everything is perfectly original and untouched.

A typical Dachau SS-BW shopping basket.

I was asked to post a photo comparing the piping colors on the tunic. Here's the photo.

I'd say the tunic piping is artillery. The boards probably so and have just faded to a different degree.

                        arty

Though the shoulder straps tend to look like Nebelwerfer piping the remaining name tag from 1938 does state "Abteiling 53" and the artillery outfit was a GHQ unit. It would be amazing to think that the fellow transferred to Werfer Regt. 53 so I tend to think he was artillery and the privately made off-color straps are for artillery like the rest of the tunic. Is there no indication of a unit acceptance stamp inside the front fly of the tunic at the bottom?

Yes, there are very light markings on the inside of the tunic! I missed them the first time I looked. It reads "Gepruft II./A.R. 53". Here's a photo. John
