Insignias are original. Cap looks to be quite large and made of doe skin; I can't make a call on originality of the cap itself.Comment

The cap is made from officer-grade trikot, but I think it started out as a M34 Heer issue officers cap and then was poorly converted to a M40 SS look. If this was period work or post war done I can not say, I'd be cautious with this one. Does it have the 'fake piping' on top?Comment

Here are some pictures of the top of the cap, and 2 of the top front (one with flash and one without flash). Not sure what you mean by "fake piping"

Alright, fake piping is present and looks good. I'll change my assessment to: good, late officers cap with bullion piping sloppily removed
