Does anyone have information on the Otto and Karolina Gahr book?

I have an opportunity to purchase Die Silberschmiede der NSDAP un der SS By Arthur Meyer & Heinrich W. Schild book.

From the research I have done, it seems to be a book on the rarer side. Something like a 1,000 copies made. Is this true?

    Any information would be great.

      - yes a limited amount printed... They can go for big money sometimes.. Saw one sell for $500. once!! guess he just had to have it!

So yes they are out of print a long time ago and no 2nd printings..

This one seems to be in good condition and priced right in the middle of the range.

That is the greatest and most appropriate mistake I've ever seen! You sir are to be commended for accidentally and succinctly labeling the 1933-45 period in Germany.

                Hi,

post-war 1993 book printed to 1,000 copies, in my very honest opinion totally overrated book of less than 100 pages... Very limited content.
                And totally overpriced !
This is pure delirium to pay more than 100 usd for this book...

                See You

Agreed. I sold my copy for £75 GBP which I felt was a fair price. Much of the content, not all, came from this scarce TR period applied art handwork catalog.

                    Really ?

The book has no content , limited pictures of item , lets be honest , it isn't worth $25 on a good day . This has to be the worst reference book I have ever owned!

I own a copy, and I cannot say anything about its real reference value, since it’s written in German, but it has neat pictures of the stuff the Gahr’s made.

Keep in mind that Otto didn’t live to see the TR, having died in 1932.

Barry Brown, thanks for mentioning that art book. Can you pls post some interior pics? Was there anything in there that did not make it into Schild's Otto und Karolina Gahr book? Aside from the criticism, I think it is a nice book to have on the shelf IMO.
