                      Hi,

original cuff title, second pattern with narrow Umlaüte.

If we compare with the 5 cuff titles - including the "Wallonien" second pattern - that have the exact same font used, the "Reichsführer-SS" cuff title is clearly visually different for at least 3 letters (of the 9) :

                      - foot of the "e" is different (only letter used in the "Wallonien" by the way)
                      - "c" is different
                      - "h" is too wide
                      - "s" is different

                        Vince,

The punch cards determine the shape of the letters. The Jacquard loom model determines the weave pattern of the band. The weave pattern for the Wallonien and this Reichsfuhrer-SS are identical.

                          Hi,

this is why i'm only focussing on the fact that the letters are different, no matter the Jacquard weave.

We don't have any proof of which maker in which location made which type of cuff title, and the weave pattern looks similar for many late war "BeVo" cuff titles.

Also as far i know, a weave pattern can be identical from one weaver loom to another, even more in the case of various looms used by various makers.

Two weaver looms with the same mechanical settings will do the same weave pattern. Or the punch cards were changed over the time, or partially different punch cards were used by a different maker.

"BeVo standards" (way to produce by also looms used by the BeVo firm) was it seemed used by other firms, some of them not identified.
More about that on this nice topic made by Wilhelm Saris :
                          http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/heer-l...eaning-603341/

To me, unknown firm(s) using BeVo standards (acting like kind of "subcontractor(s)") produced similar BeVo cuff titles.

But the difference in the font is in my opinion or due to a change in time of the font (it happened for the "real" BeVo cuff titles over the time), or... due to a different maker (which may appear far more obvious to me).

                          See You

                          Vince
