Historically completely uninteresting.

I'm happy that I can enjoy also pieces without a known history

Yes, of course. It's always a question of personal taste, preference, available budget and how high you put the bar for yourself to build a quality collection.
The key is to have "fun" on the way!
Cheers!

Do never forget :
In the USA , "vet bring back" items are mostly unissued , mint and without stories.
in Germany , most items were denazified ! Not a good period 1945 for ex-SS soldiers !
So I 'm sure that 95% of tunics around the world now (that saw action )are reconstructed .
just my two cents.
I like this tunic anyway.

Very true.
This is why the 5% of untouched pieces and pieces with full provenance will naturally and logically always demand a premium. Because they are so extremely rare and stand out.

There's (made-up) provenance some people provide which is absolutely no firm provenance at all. The typical "Vet find" phrase which is no more than a few empty words...
Clear photo evidence of the item in wear during the war is the best of course.
